Terminal 5, NYC 11.10.11 – Heralded by Rolling Stone as one of the bands to watch in 2010, and having one of the biggest hits of the summer with Moneygrabber, Fitz & The Tantrums made a stop atTerminal 5, with an earlier pitstop at Occupy Wall Street,  in support of their current record Pickin’ Up the Pieces.

Its amazing how lighting changes so drastically at the same venue from one show to another.  Just a few days earlier I had some great lighting for Evanescence but then for Fitz & The Tantrums it was just so-so.  Rarely do I convert to black and white if I have to and, as you can tell, half this set is black and white.  Colors were just un-fixable.  Its not the quantity of light but the quality.  Heavy red spot lights for this show that were impossible to fix.  ISO sat around 2000 on this night.  Wide open, as usual.

  1. Great shots Joe. Red KILLS great concert shots – I agree 100%. Any luck working the white balance in post processing to try and work on reds?

I apologize Charlie as I didn’t get alerted to your comment. I worked them a bit but the problem is there is a fine line between pulling down the reds and turning everything gray, and that is what was happening here.
