Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY, 4.7.2013 – Photos from Green Day at Barclays Center on April 7, 2013.
I was supposed to shoot Green Day for the first time back in January before the tour was initially postponed, so this felt like a long time coming. The pit at Barclays was packed with 21 photographers plus security. Moving around wasn’t happening and I was basically stationary for the entire set. The lights were good and my one mistake was that I didn’t stop down to at least f4. Green Day moves around quite a bit and at 2.8 any little movement with cause your shot to be out of focus. And having to stand where i did I felt like Billie Joe was too close to his mic in some of my shots. But it was an amazing shoot. They are the type of band whose energy is transferred to the photographer and, when you leave the pit, you are still on a rush from just shooting.
Also had one of these picked up for Rolling Stone.com’s “Hottest Live Photos” Section….
