Photos: J Roddy Walston & The Business at Firefly

The Woodlands, Dover, DE, 7.22.12 – J Roddy Walston woke up the Firefly crowd on Sunday (we’ll call it morning) with a noon set on Firefly’s Backyard Stage.  The die-hards knew what to expect but I am sure the J Roddy virgins thought they were getting something mellow to ease them into their 3rd day at Firefly.  Instead they got some kick-your-ass southern Rock n Roll.  Check out my photos of J Roddy Walston & The Business from Day 3 at Firefly Music Festival.

I have covered J Roddy Walston and the Business a couple of times in the past, but not in almost 2 years, so when I found out they were on the line-up at Firefly Music Festival I was excited.  If you read about my exploits with Wayne Coyne of Flaming Lips, you know we jumped on a golf cart together to head over for a hot air balloon ride.  When we got there, Rod, of J Roddy Walston and the Business was with his family in the area.   Rod and Wayne talked for a bit and Wayne came back over to me.  I thoguht they may have known each other but Wayne said they didn’t.  Once  Itold him who he was he went back over to him and they struck up more conversation.  When it was our turn to get into the balloon, Wayne invited Rod and this is what we got from it.  I’d like to think I added a bit to Rod’s experience at Firefly.
