Photos: Testament at Best Buy Theater 2.8.12

Best Buy Theater, NYC, 2.8.12 – It was an east coast – west coast night of heavy metal as San Francisco thrash metal legends Testament teamed up for a co-headlining bill with their east coast counterparts Anthrax at the Best Buy Theater.

Another day, another night of strange lighting at Best Buy Theater for Testament.  The pit wasn’t as crowded for the co-headliner, Testament, as it was for Anthrax.  Still crowded though and the lighting is just over saturated reds and blues.  This basically translates to black and white conversions.  Most people are okay with this, and some photographers are probably happy as they don’t have to dial in proper colors, but I am a color guy and never like being forced to convert.  Shot this mostly at iso3200 and mostly with the 5DII and 24-70.  Just picked up an ETTL flash trigger which has an option to shoot with no flash and only use the auto focus assist.  Looking forward to the next time I can try this out.
