Webster Hall, NYC, 5.11.2013 – Live music photos of Swedish doom metal band Ghost at Webster Hall in New York City on May 11, 2013. Click through the break if you dare.
This was my second time shooting the visual spectacle known as Ghost. The first time being when I was on assignment for Rolling Stone at Orion festival last summer. But this time, I got to shoot them indoors, with stage lighting, in their traditional black outfits and it made for a much more intense show and photos. Colors were extremely saturated from blues to greens to magentas.
I shot this with 2 bodies with the Canon 24-70 on one and the 16-35 on the second. Since the band travels with their own lighting person, you get the same light show no matter which show you go to, give or take some intensity. I shot this around iso 2500 for the three songs. You don’t get a ton of movement, especially from Papa Emeritus, although The Nameless Ghouls do move around a bit but they aren’t seen in much light.
