Miami, FL, January 2016 – Photos from the Impractical Jokers cruise on the Norwegian Pearl with the Tenderloins, Sal Vulcano, Joe Gatto, James Murray and Brian Quinn, along with Lisa Lampanelli, Gilbert Gottfried, Dom Irrera, Michael Ian Black, The Dan Band, Jay Oakerson, Mark Normand, Owen Benjamin, Chris Gethard, Cipha Sounds, Karaoke Killed the Kat, Chase & Rose, and Shawn Klush.
I got to spend 4 days on a cruise boat with a whole lot of funny people at the first, and hopefully not the last, Impractical Jokers Cruise. Being their photographer, I was tasked with documenting anything they were a part of. They did 3 shows of their live tour, made special appearances at other people’s sets, took part in podcasts, did karaoke with their fans and filmed an upcoming episode for Season 5 of their successful TV show.
I ran around this ship for 4 days trying to keep up. I got to meet so many fans from all over the country, some I will stay in touch with for long time. I got to meet some truly funny comedians. I got to be on stage for karaoke with Joey Fatone doing “The Right Stuff”. I worked my tail off, and I would do it again in a second.
The first time I shoot something new is always a challenge. I had no idea what to expect. Add to that the fact that I had to learn the layout of the boat, I ran around quite a bit. Staying organized was key for me, and Field Notes helped me a ton. I can’t wait for the 2017 cruise (if there is one), just because I can improve my workflow. And spending 5 days on a boat in the gulf of Mexico with so many great people isn’t bad either.
