Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY, 3.17.2014 – Photos of Foster the People hosting their record release party at Music Hall of Williamsburg that was live broadcast on Sirius XM on March 17, 2014.
Its been a few years since Foster the People exploded onto the scene with a song many people didn’t realize was a grim tale of a school shooting. They managed to make that theme sound a bit happy and bouncy. They vowed to move away from the electronic sound of that album and more towards a rock sound for their sophomore release and they played a release party at Music Hall and live broadcast it on Sirius XM in order to show it.
This is now considered a tiny venue for them even though 3 years ago I covered them at Music Hall when they were on their way up. Since then, I have covered them at Terminal 5 and headlining Firefly. Music Hall is a no-pit venue and with it so crowded I tend to get a little lazy and find a spot and stay there. I also hate being the guy plowing through a crowd there to enjoy a show with my multiple cameras and large backpack. The lighting was ok, if not pretty boring for this show. They have had cooler lighting every other time I shot them but it seemed like maybe Zachary Matusow isn’t working with them this tour, or didn’t come out for this show.
