Huey Lewis and the News at Irving Plaza

Irving Plaza, NYC, May 13, 2013 – Live music photos of Huey Lewis and the News celebrating the 30th Anniversary of “Sports” at Irving Plaza on May 13, 2013.

Irving Plaza hosted Huey Lewis and the News in celebration of the 30th anniversary of “Sports”, and they sold it out quite easily.  I have shot many times at Irving but this night was the first time I had even seen actual seats. The seats took up the first 5 rows and separated general admission from behind it.  The people in the seats stayed in their seats while the general admission was alive all night.

With this set-up, I was allowed to shoot from the side of the house and was happy the people in their seats never stood up.  Huey Lewis was obviously enthusiastic on stage and the band was energetic behind him.  Not knowing I was shooting from here, I only had my full frame cameras with me and used my 70-200 90% of the time.  Lighting was generally good with iso around 3200 with fast shutter speeds.
