April 27, 2013 – Michelle and Adam had a beautiful day, maybe the best of the month, for their New Jersey Wedding. With temperatures hovering around 70 degrees and barely a cloud in the sky, the perfect weather was setting up the perfect day. We started the day at the bride’s home for hair and make-up. Oh, and bagels with a healthy dose of “Say Yes to the Dress” on Netflix. The bridesmaids had matching pajamas to start the day and changed into beautiful blue gowns that matched the flower choices perfectly. Click through for more….
After some portraits in the home of the parents of the bride, we headed over to St. Aloysius Church in Jackson, NJ. A more modern church, it had great natural light coming in the huge windows. After the ceremony we drove north on the Garden State Parkway to Thompson Park in Lincroft. Finding shade on this day at 3pm was very difficult but the mansion on site made for a beautiful backdrop for our portraits.
With about an hour to get all portraits done we then made out way to the reception hall, Buona Serra Palazzo in Ocean, NJ. Now, just to backtrack, this was not the bride and groom’s original wedding venue. The first venue was ruined during Superstorm Sandy and the bride and groom, while originally from the local area they have since moved upstate in NY, trusted the bride’s parents, Fred and Ginger, to help locate a new venue with just 5 months until the wedding day. A newer venue, the staff at Buena Sera did a magnificent job with the reception.
Buona Sera had one of the most unique ways to have the bridal party enter that can only be explained with a photo. And when you get to it you will know what I mean. After lots of drinking and dancing, the night was capped off with a Venetian hour that left everyone getting on the shuttle with a sugar rush. It included a huge assortment of Italian pastries and classic glass jars filled with retro candy.
