Matchbox Twenty at The Capitol Theatre

I drove up to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester to shoot this.  Matchbox Tenty was one of the first bands I shot music of and I was looking forward to shooting them again.  This was a seated show, which at The Capitol Theatre means no photo pit, but management allowed me to shoot from the aisles after I begged just a bit.

This would have e been an incredible shoot had it not been for human error.  We all make mistakes but I  made a big one that night.  I was running from aisle to aisle and must have bumped the auto focus button to manual.  When I shoot, I only chimp for exposure and I never realized my lens wasn’t focusing.  So just about every shot I took with my 5D3 and 24-70 went into the bin.  I still like what I got of Matchbox Twenty, but like every photographer, I focus too much on what I missed, and if you saw the shots I missed you would too.
