Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC, 1.22.13 – Photo review of Soundgarden at Hammerstein Ballroom on January 22, 2013.
The Hammerstein show was my third time shooting Soundgarden and seventh time shooting Chris Cornell in the past 2 years. The lighting was very good for the show, as it always is for Soundgarden, but I thought there was more to work with when I shot them at Irving Plaza a couple of months ago. I tend to shoot a little higher with my ISO than others will at the same show because if the lights change I can quickly adjust my shutter speed with a single roll of the dial but to change ISO I need to press an extra button. It might not sound like a lot but in the pit with 3 songs to shoot, every second helps. So most of these are at ISO 2500 at 1/400 as a baseline with some changes made as I was shooting.
