true colors fund benefit at the beacon-16The Beacon Theatre, NYC, December 8, 2012 – Photos from Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors Fund “Home for the Holidays”, a benefit for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Homeless Teenagers at The Beacon Theatre.  Special guests included Sarah McLachlin, Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Counting Crows, Carmen Electra, Jason Mraz, Roberta Flack, Terry Nunn, St. Vincent, Alexis Krauss from Sleigh Bells and more!

So I was one of 2 photographers who had the chance to shoot this entire show.  Only a couple of us were there after the step and repeat and of the few allowed to shoot, 2 of us got to shoot past the first 15 minutes or so.  If you want to see where this would have ended, stop at the Counting Crows.  This show was hotly liut from the front and not well lit from behind.  It was a typical Beacon Theatre shoot where you have to shoot from the side of the venue except I was also allowed to shoot from the back as well.  At least shooting from the back you get some of the stage behind the performer and the back drop.
