Photos: Morrissey at Terminal 5

Terminal 5, NYC, 10.13.12 – Morrissey, former front-man of 80s New Wavers The Smiths, brought his solo act to New York City for 3 shows, one at Radio City Music Hall this week and 2 sold-out, even over-sold, shows at Terminal 5 on the weekend.  Check out my pics from night 2 at Terminal 5.

I will admit I was excited to shoot Morrissey and at the same time thought it would be a kind of vanilla shoot but I was wrong.  I loved shooting him.  He was emotional, playful and interactive at Terminal 5.  Myself and my friend and fellow photographer Joe Russo actually covered PiL at Hammerstein Ballroom at 8:25 and made it over a mile in New York City to Terminal 5 before Morrissey started his set at 8:50.

Lots of white lighting on Morrissey.  I actually shot this at 1600 iso and could have easily gotten away with less but who needs to with the 5D Mark II?  Very hot spotlights coming from behind him and his backing band was either in the dark or in very saturated blues or greens.  The pit, even though there were only 6 photographers, was packed because Morrissey brings additional security for the pit.
