The Woodlands, Dover, DE, 7.21.12 – This is usually the place I say some cool things about the band since i usually know a little about everyone I shoot. But for Lupe Fiasco I can’t add anything really. I shot Lupe Fiasco because my editor told me to. But wow did I wish I knew more about him. I could have listened to him for 4 hours. And I could have watched him perform for even longer. Lupe sounded great and put on an amazing show at Firefly Festival. Check out my shots from one of the few hip-hop artists I have covered. Closing out the Backyard Stage on day 2 of Firefly Festival, here is my set from Lupe Fiasco.
In spite of the terrible lighting for Lupe Fiasco at Firefly Festival, and in spite of the obstacles I had to shoot around all over the stage, this was one of my favorite acts to shoot all weekend. Lupe was all over the stage, moving around like Madonna or Brittany in their hey-day, except Lupe Fiasco wasn’t lip syncing. Now maybe he put a little extra in to his set since this wasn’t a Lupe Fiasco crowd, but it didn’t seem like it. At Firefly you felt like you got the Lupe you would get in front of any crowd.
