Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY, 6.06.2012 – Roger Waters brought the Pink Floyd classic “The Wall” to Yankee Stadium for a 2 night, sold out run. The Wall is a huge production, probably one of the biggest concert stage productions of all time. Roger Waters is back on tour doing stadiums in the US just 2 years after doing an indoor arena tour of The Wall.
This was my second time shooting The Wall and a very different experience than my first time. 2 years ago I covered this show at Izod Center. There were 2 photographers in the pit and the stage was about 6′ high. This year there were 23 photographers in the pit and the stage, which had to accommodate the large difference in venue capacity, was raised to over 10′. Anything on the back half of the stage was lost. This is still a beautiful shoot with a huge stage production and amazing visuals.
