Bader Field, Atlantic City, NJ 6.23.2012 – The Arctic Monkeys headlined the 2nd stage at Metallica’s inaugural Orion Music + More festival at Bader Field and obviously won over some heavy metal fans in the process. They put on a great set and the only hiccup was that people were eager to head over to the main stage to get a good spot for Metallica who were next up to close the night. Check out the pics of Arctic Monkeys by clicking through the link.
The Second stage at Orion was the perfect shooting stage. The height was right, the stage was large and the pit was a perfect size, especially with the number of photographers covering the festival. So to shoot Arctic Monkeys on that stage was a treat. They are not super energetic but they give photographers a lot to work with compared to most bands, and their energy does rub off on the crowd. We were closer to sun down so my iso was up around 1600 just so I could keep my shutter speeds up. With the 5DII or 5DIII, iso1600 is not something to worry about.
