Terminal 5, NYC, 9.30.11 – Opening for Matt Nathanson, Vanessa Carlton was not the normal supporting act for a big band. She has had some major success on her own and acquired her own loyal following. Aft taking some time off, she is touring in support of her new record Rabbits on the Run. Vanessa showcases her talent as an artist, to be able to sit behind a piano and connect with an audience with no industry execs whispering in her ear.
The pit was a bit different than earlier in the week at Foster the People. I shot with a few other people this night but didn’t have to worry about getting bumped around or moving around for angles. Lighting was ok. A bit too red for my taste but the back light was fun to play with. Most of these were ISO1600 with both my bodies and 2 zooms.
