Photos: Marina & The Diamonds Record Release at Mondrian Rooftop

Mondrian Hotel, Soho, NYC, 8.13.2012 – Marina & The Diamonds celebrated the release of her new record, Electra Heart, with an intimate release party on the rooftop of the Mondrian Hotel in New York City.  Marina & The Diamonds is just Marina: The Diamonds are her fans.  She has a huge following in Europe and, like many British acts in the past, has crossed the pond to make her mark in the US.  Marina and the Diamonds will be making 2 appearances at Webster Hall this week, but last night a select group was treated to a stripped down version of her show.

Marina and the Diamonds played a rooftop show at 8pm just as the sun was setting.  Lighting was arranged for the show at the Mondrian so there was a mix of natural light along with the stage lighting.  It was a tiny area and there were about 13 photographers so moving around the change angles was not happening.  At times like these you tend to get creative with your framing and in this Marina and the Diamonds set I did something I rarely do….use a tilt.
