Photos: Erasure at Terminal 5, NYC 9.14.11

Terminal 5, NYC 9.14.11 – I grew up on “new wave”/brit pop, or whatever genre you want to classify these bands as.  So when I get a chance to cover them, I jump at it.  The problem sometimes is that some of these bands have seen better days, and it ruins my 20+ years of loving them.  Well Erasure does not fall into this category.  From the minute I walked into Terminal 5 and saw the stage set-up, I knew this was a band determined to put on a great show.  Andy and Vince were in top form with Andy’s voice sounding just like it did during the band’s prime.  They played songs off their new release and, of course, pleased the crowd with songs they have been doing for 25 years.

Not much to say in my notes about this shoot.  It was pretty straightforward.  The lighting was pretty darn good throughout, if not for some hot spot lights overhead.  Andy has a lot of exposed skin which tends to blow out with the lights so properly exposing was a bit tough.  I used my normal 2 body kit here and the pit only had a few photographers so I had some room to move.  Nice shoot overall.
